Support Justice for the Victims of Putis (PERU)

Petition to seek justice in the case of Putis, Ayacucho, Peru
Dear Friends,
In December 2008 Peace and Hope, a Peruvian Human Rights Organisation, launched the campaign “Tell me their names” that aims to collect signaturesfrom citizens of Peru and the world in order to pressure the PeruvianDefense Minister to hand over the names of soldiers involved in human rightsviolations during the armed conflict (1980-2000), in particular to the caseof Putis, Ayacucho were more than 100 people were massacred in 1984.
The case of Putis is being investigated by the Public Ministry, and on the10th of December 2008 a letter that expressed concern over the lack ofattention given to the case of Putis and signed by hundreds of people fromall over the world was delivered to the Defense Minister. The letter askedfor the cooperation from the Ministry, and most importantly to hand over thenames of the military personnel involved in human rights violations (thatfor the moment are only known by their nicknames). The Minister replied tothe letter claiming that the information does not exist, which is a clearcase of trying to covering up what has happened and frustrating the courseof justice for the family members of the victims who have been waiting for25 years to know the truth.
To sign the petition and contribute to the fight for justice, please go tothe web page of electronic signatures www.pazyesperanza.org/firma

Thank you

Asia conference on prostitution and trafficking

Greetings, Task Force members!

It was wonderful to be with you all at your final meeting last week. I am powerfully encouraged by the vision that God has given you for using your gifts to serve the 'least of these'! I am pleased to offer you my support and input as you strategise to make a difference in the prostitution/ trafficking situation worldwide.

I wanted to follow up with you today by giving you more details of the conference I mentioned on prostitution and trafficking, which will be held in Manila in January.

The conference is being sponsored by the International Christian Alliance on Prostitution (a group similar to AI) and hosted by Samaritana, a local ministry in the Philippines. The dates are 10 - 17 January, but I believe there would be value in attending even an abbreviated version (for those who have difficulty scheduling a week away). I'm attaching a link for the conference brochure. It's http://www.samaritana.org/pdf/FINAL%20Brochure%20Layout.pdf .

Feel free to email me at jenroemhildt@gmail.com if you have any questions! I will update you on further developments.

Blessings!
